For our 15th Anniversary Collection, we brought the Cabana Lifestyle to you. Constantly inspired by the coastal design of homes at our headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, we reached out to the amazing ladies at Nesting Place Interiors for local photoshoot locations. Our fellow girl bosses helped us find the perfect partners & beautiful homes for, dare we say, the most fun photoshoot yet! The images we captured from this shoot showcased classic Cabana prints from the vault in stunning spaces.
Robyn graciously welcomed us to her gorgeous home designed by Angie Hummell from Nesting Place Interiors. Angie began her design career in Atlanta, and after moving to Ponte Vedra Beach fell in love with coastal living. With an eye for colors, and a love for listening to her clients’ visions, Angie designs spaces that are both beautiful & functional.

How did you know you wanted to be an interior designer?
I have always loved being creative and making things beautiful! Even as a child, I was constantly making pillows and window treatments to freshen up my room.
What is it like working at Nesting Place Interiors with other inspiring female designers?
We have the most amazing team! We are like a sisterhood and we are very supportive and encouraging of each other. As a team, we have a lot of fun together and we laugh a lot! A great sense of humor is so important to us:)
What is one thing you love about being a designer?
My favorite part of design is definitely my clients! We are so fortunate to get to know our clients so well though out this process and there is nothing more rewarding than knowing that we were able to turn their house into a home.
How would you describe your design philosophy/style?
Our design philosophy is to create spaces that bring peace, happiness and a sense of order. We love to tell a cohesive story about a house through color and we ensure that a client's personal taste is incorporated into this process.
What drew you to Ponte Vedra Beach?
We loved the size of the community, the excellent schools, the relaxed lifestyle and the beach, of course!

Do you have a favorite space in the featured home?
The kitchen is hands-down my favorite space in the house! Our goal was to create a large island to host both pizza parties for their kids or dinner parties for their friends. The kitchen is both stunning while also being very welcoming.
Ok, I also LOVE the sister suite, as it is so feminine and such a special space for any visitors. The custom blush velvet beds paired with the gorgeous wallpaper and fabulous sconces are a highlight for this room!
What inspired that space?
The kitchen was inspired by the custom Ann Morris Pendants, the amazing marble countertops and the fabulous custom refrigerator panel! This kitchen has so many special moments and the bench at the end of the island is a family favorite.

While each room can stand alone, the home has a cohesive aesthetic. How did you design and decorate the entire home?
We began with a fabric collection that we used as a guide throughout the house to ensure that the home was cohesive but that each room also has its own personality.
What are some of the most important questions that you always ask your clients?
Some questions I always ask are: How do you plan to use this space? What are some of your favorite colors or patterns? What is your budget for this project?

What design tips would you give any homeowner?
Begin with the end in mind and have a great plan before you get started.
What are the pieces you think are worth investing in?
We recommend investing in anything that brings our clients great joy, whether it be artwork, a rug or a fabulous wallpaper! Investing in quality upholstery in rooms that have a lot of activity is a must!

What are your favorite accents to add to a room?
We love stacks of coffee table books, real plants and baskets as they feel inviting, fresh and give a nice layered look.
Are there any trends that you're loving right now?
We are loving the natural and rattan lighting and furniture, as they are relaxed and the textures are beautiful for a coastal vibe.
Living in this beautiful town, how do you bring the outdoors into your designs?
We have some amazing local artists that are inspired by the ocean and we love to bring in their custom artwork into our projects. We also focus on colors that are reminiscent of the outdoors, whether it is the blue of the ocean, the putty color of the sand or the marsh grasses.
How do you balance coastal living with classic design?
Natural elements are always classic and they are an important part of coastal design!

One last question.. What do you love about your Cabana Life picks?
My cabana life picks are so comfortable & flattering!
Angie chose our luxuriously soft Navy Tee Dress for the shoot and continued to wear it the rest of the day for all her meetings. Robyn wore our best-selling silhouette, the Off The Shoulder Dress, in the new Seascape print. The blues in their picks go beautifully with the design of Robyn's home.
We hope you feel as inspired as we do! For more design inspo from Angie and Nesting Place Interiors check out their website & Instagram. Find our latest sun-safe styles here and keep an eye out for another beautiful home & designer feature from our 15th Anniversary Collection photoshoot.
