Ready to warm up on these cool autumn days? We’ve found the perfect recipe great to spice up any fall occasion! With our Seattle print drop we’ve decided to pair a cocktail filled with warm spices & sweet apple slices. Did you know apples are Seattle’s state fruit?! This Half Baked Harvest recipe is guaranteed to delight all season long. Save this blog for you next cocktail hour or dinner party!
Ingredients
Makes 8 Servings.
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon cardamon pods
1 star anise
1 inch fresh ginger, sliced
zest of 1 orange
1 1/2 cups bourbon
4 ounces (1/2 cup) lemon juice
3-4 dashes orange bitters
3-4 ounces (1/4 – 1/2 cup) spiced maple syrup
1 bottle (750ml) champagne, chilled
Instructions
- To make the spiced maple syrup. In a medium pot, bring 1/2 cup water, the maple syrup, cinnamon, cardamom, star anise & ginger to a boil over high heat. Boil 2-3 minutes, then remove from the heat.
- Stir in the orange zest. Let cool, then strain the syrup into a glass jar. This syrup makes enough for about 6 drinks.
- In a punch bowl, combine the spiced maple syrup, the bourbon, lemon juice & orange bitters. Stir to combine, chill until ready to serve.
- Before serving, add ice, then pour the champagne over.
